The Mazda CX-5 is available with two different powertrains. The base powerhouse, a Skyactiv®-G 2.5, produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque.
If you so choose, you can equip your CX-5 model with a Skyactiv-G® 2.5 with Dynamic Pressure Turbo. This engine has a bit more power on tap, with 227 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque (with 87 octane premium unleaded fuel). It should put a bit more pep in your step!
All CX-5 models come standard with i-ACTV AWD® so you can experience a bit more traction when you hit the road.

All told, there are six “S” trims and two “Turbo” trims—and the difference between them is the engine you’ll find under the hood. The “S” trims use the Skyactiv®-G 2.5 (186 lb-ft of torque), while the “Turbo” trims use the Skyactiv®-G 2.5 with Dynamic Pressure Turbo (320 lb-ft of torque).
